The past two years I wanted to be in Chicago to see this event, they weather played horrible tricks to keep me away but this year it was a beautiful day to hangout in the city. And the City\u00a0Transportation\u00a0Board wasn’t kidding when they mentioned that they were expecting 50k people visiting the city. The place was completely packed. I reached there around 7a.m to get to the place which i had in mind when i scouted for location the previous week.<\/p>\n
Saint Patrick’s Day in general is a celebration of Irish culture.\u00a0For those who aren’t aware of this event in Chicago,\u00a0for the past 43 years the Chicago River turns green for the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade celebration.\u00a0Many ask “how this is different from the rest of the year when the river is always has a shade of green”. The difference is both significant and breathtaking because the color green is identical to the greens of Ireland from where it got its name \u201cThe Emerald Isle.\u201d I was told that this idea came from when they saw plumbers using a green dye to check for leaks into the river from the city’s pipelines.<\/p>\n
