Let it splash

Arduino… I can spend the next couple of months just trying to describe the possibilities this little fella has. I just modified the code from my previous project and made it into a Laser tripwire. In other words, after an object passes through the laser beam to break the circuit the flash will fire either immediately or after a specific delay(starting from ms).

Input to the system is the laser beam being broken by an object(In this case, the peppers) and the Arduino is setup to trigger the PW Mini TT1 after 1ms, which send the signal to PW FlexTT5 to trigger the Canon 580 EXII. I know, as confusing or complex this may sound.. it’s not. Please check out the setup below.

Shutter speed: 2-4 seconds
Aperture: f14
ISO : 100
Gear Used: Canon 5D MII, Canon 100mm f2.8 IS L, 2x Canon 580 EX II, 2x PW Flex TT5, PW Mini TT1

Here is the setup. I know i’m not even close to good at mspaint but i think its still better than putting it in words. I did start with Apples, tomatoes but i found that the colors on the pepper were real vibrant and added glamour to the shot.

Flash on top set at 1/32th power
Flash below set to 1/16th power

Again., It’s not the shutter speed that freezes motion, its the flash.

Here are the shots,

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
