Close Encounters

Millipedes – That’s how most of us know it. I often end-up mixing it up with Centipedes, not sure of the reason. These are just abundant in damp weather areas. Knowing their size, they often see their last light after a bike/car tire rolls over them or some person simply puts all their body weight on it.

This video was shot in my backyard in my hometown while on my trip to India with my Canon 5D MII and Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens. I had my 5D MII mounted on Redrock Micro Nano – Grippit. The Grippit was perfectly ideal for run and gun situations like these. The Zacuto z-finder behind the 5D MII added another point of contact for support. Simple rig but pretty powerful.

The Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens, this lens never fails to impress me. It’s sharpness and hybrid stabilization are few of it’s breath-taking features that gives it the ‘wow’ factor.

Software used: Shot everything using Technicolor picture-style for 5D Mark II and later color corrected and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
