I know a place

Here is the project i have been working on for quite a while. All these were shot at one my favorite places in Illinois, The Starved Rock State Park.

I spent lot of time hiking with all my camera gear to get to some of the waterfalls in this video. It’s been raining here real heavy which is adding lovable colors and flavor to this is place. I had lots of fun shooting this whole project.

Most of the days, i was on the road as early as 3a.m to reach the park and i ended-up camping few days to be up by sunrise(well, and to save on gas too(!))

And here is the video. Watch it in HD.

Gear used: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 16-35mm II, Canon 100mm macro IS, Fader ND filter, Canon Intervelometer for the Timelapse. Most of the dolly moves were achieved using a DIY slider i put together(stuff that’s available from Homedepot, has cost me 70$ till now). Main con of the DIY slider was, it didn’t perform very well(Started wobbling) when it got wet and when it was too cold & misty. Indislider mini came in handy in those scenarios(Kessler’s Pocket Dolly has already been added to my wishlist).

Software Used: Post-Processing and color correction done with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, Adobe Lightroom 3 to color correct the images i shot for the time-lapse bit at the end of the video.

If vimeo is killing your cpu, here is the youtube link(If your bandwidth allows, turn HD on).,

Thanks for stopping by..
